lost in Memphis tonight. The Kings wasted a ten point lead after three
quarters of play, surrendering 41 fourth quarter points to the Grizz. I just
don’t understand why Justin Williams doesn’t
play. You have to have defensive rebounding and some sort of shot blocking on
the floor. Especially when there is such a difference in speed among the
point guards. Chucky Atkins went
around Mike Bibby like
Bibby was in cement shoes. And then there was no backside help. I am not on
the fire Eric Musselman buzz.
I don’t think any coach could win consistently with the Kings lack of talent.
But I do think the Kings are under achieving at present. If the season ended
today - Memphis would have the most balls in the NBA Draft Lottery hopper
(Greg Oden). The next worst team is Boston (Kevin Durant), followed by
Philadelphia (Joakim Noah), Charlotte, Atlanta, Seattle, and Sacramento.
...Yesterday we caught Wisconsin at Iowa. I think the Badgers will be a very
tough out in the NCAA Tourney. They attacked the basket repeatedly and took
care of the ball like a championship team does. ...Late last week I was upset
at the poor officiating that allowed Duke to get some serious home cooking in
a win over Clemson. The officials never checked to see how much time should
gave been on the game clock for Duke’s crucial last possession in a tie game.
Duke should have had about 2.5
seconds—but they were given a full five seconds. They went the length of the
floor and scored to win. It was simply wrong. The next day Jay Bilas tried to justify the Dukies making a
great play on ESPN rather than pointing out that the officials screwed
up. Later, the ACC announced the
officials had errored. But who cares. Duke still won. Where is the justice? |
