February 11, 2007 ...I dropped Brandon Rush a bunch on my NBA Draft Board after a review of his numbers. ...Watched too much hoop on Saturday. Ohio State won but was tested by Purdue. ...Kansas smacked Missouri. Julian Wright was very nice posting a career high 33 points to go with 12 rebounds. ...Florida held on to beat Kentucky despite a lackluster game from Joakim Noah. ...The Kings won for the fifth time in a row. They are playing well right now. Kevin Martin’s FGA’s are up. That is good.

February 8, 2007 ...The updated efficiency ratings for the mid-season point of the NBA are now posted. ...If the NBA Draft were today—and everyone came out—here is my top 14 (lottery). The number in parenthesis is NBA Draft.net’s ranking of the player.

February 5, 2007 ...Caught the Kings at ARCO tonight vs. the Hornets. The Kings won. The Hornets offense is pretty lame realitive to the NBA. Desmond Mason has almost two turnovers for every assist this season. Mason should not be the guy taking the most shots for your team. He does lead them in field goals attempted. Some of that is due to injuries to Chris Paul and David West. I think Paul and West need to shoot 15-20 times a game for New Orleans / OKC to have any chance at all. ...Tyson Chandler could be so much better. I hope he takes time in the Summer to work on his free throw shooting, passing out of the post, and footwork with his back to the basket. I like the rest of his game just fine. He dominates on the glass and alters and blocks shots with regularity. ...If I were in charge of the Hornets, I  would give up some size and use less of Rasual Butler and Mason and run more with Bobby Jackson, Devin Brown and Paul. Their spacing would be improved due to Jackson and Brown’s ability to stretch defenses. Jannero Pargo needs to play more. I think Linton Johnson’s shot looks better than I ever remember it being. He brings toughness too. ...I still think the Kings need to find more shots for Kevin Martin. Even though some of Kevin’s shots look crazy, he is too quick, and too good a free throw shooter to not attempt 15 shots per game.

February 4, 2007 ...With Georgie the cat on my lap I blog at 1:24 am. ...So the Super Bowl is later today and I am nervous for Prince - who will provide halftime entertainment. Something like 300 million people will be watching. I am not worried about Prince doing anything wrong musically. He will be well rehearsed and full of energy. I hear he will use the Florida A&M Marching Band in his set. I just hope there are no technical gaffes - shit like that. Pay close attention to Prince’s guitar playing. Too many people don’t fully appreciate this man’s genius in playing guitar. He plays multiple styles with more precision than anyone I’ve ever seen or heard. Prince delivered the best press conference ever Thursday. Smartly, Prince released a new tune for Super Bowl Sunday. ...The Kings beat the Iverson-less Nuggs Saturday night at ARCO. Ron Artest was outstanding in disrupting Carmelo Anthony. ...DerMarr Johnson has skills but doesn’t use them. He is sooo passive on the floor. ...Linas Kleiza plays hard. ...I appreciate Francisco Garcia’s energy. ...I sure didn’t like the Kings dancers dancing to country music. ...I have dropped Juan Palacios of Louisville out of my NBA draft top-60. I saw him again today vs. Villanova and he just isn’t getting it done like he did as a promising freshman. ...How North Carolina could lose to N.C. State is a mystery to me. The Tar-Heels have four of the top 14 players on my draft board. …My ten best players in college under 6’5”… Mike Conley Jr. - Ohio State (6’1”), Mario Chalmers - Kansas (6’2”), Dominic James - Marquette (5’11”), Wayne Ellington - North Carolina (6’4”), Chris Lofton - Tennessee (6’2”), D.J. Augsutin - Texas (5’11”), P.J. Couisnard - Wichita State (6’4”), Jawann McClellan - Arizona (6’4”), JamesOn Curry - Oklahoma State (6’3”), Jerel McNeal - Marquette (6’3”).
