March 13, 2006 ...Check out the list of players to watch in the 2006 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

March 10, 2006 ...The Sacramento Kings are 12-4 in their last 16 games after handling Memphis tonight at ARCO. Since I have criticized Rick Adelman’s seven man rotation in the past—I must give him credit for his recent job of pushing all the right buttons. He correctly kept Kenny Thomas in the starting lineup when Shareef Abdur Rahim returned from a broken jaw. He made the same correct call with Kevin Martin and Bonzi Wells. ...Thomas said in his post game interview that the Kings WILL beat the Mavs Sunday. ...I’ve been overdosing on college hoop. ...Hopefully you all saw Jim Boheim going off about how the Orange “wouldn't have won ten fu*king games without Gerry McNamara”. It was classic. But for the record I believe Syracuse will ultimately be better when Eric Devendorf takes the reins next year. ...I feel like the NCAA tourney field will be as wide open as ever. There is great parity in college basketball and I foresee many ‘upsets’.  Who might win it all? I could see Texas, Duke, North Carolina, or Connecticut cutting down the nets. I also would not be shocked to see Oral Roberts win a first round game. ...It seems like Gonzaga keeps just squeaking out wins. Maybe they have that special winners quality. LSU is another team I like to go a couple rounds at least.

March 7, 2006 ...We were hyping Caleb Green of Oral Roberts who lived up to the hype in leading his squad to their conference championship. ...If you enjoy soulful hip-hop at all you should be hip to Little Brother. Their Minstrel Show cd includes some of the  best hip-hop I’ve heard in ages. ...The Kings beat the Nets in New Jersey to advance to 3-1 on their five game trip. Sacramento played well but gosh doggit—the Nets are weak after Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, and Richard Jefferson (and to some extent Nenad Krstic). How can Lawrence Frank play Jacque Vaughn, Antoine Wright and Jason Collins all of those minutes? I know Lamond Murray plays no defense but dude can put ball in hole. Zoran Planinic has to be better than Vaughn. ...Kidd looks trimmed down. ...The Nets need to shake up their roster if they want to have any chance in the playoffs.  ...Since it is a topic of conversation, here are 15 guys that would make my final cut if I were putting together the USA Olympic Team… Points Guards: Chris Paul, Chauncey Billups, and Baron Davis. Shooting Guards: Dwyane Wade, Kobe Bryant, and Allen Iverson. Small Forwards: Lebron James, Paul Pierce, and Rashard Lewis. Power Forwards: Elton Brand, Shawn Marion, and Chris Bosh. Centers: Marcus Camby, Shaquille O’Neal, and Tim Duncan.

March 4, 2006 ...Time for everyone to come up with a term other than ‘handful’. All I hear is, “He’s a handful”. ...North Carolina beating Duke on Coach K Court was impressive. I am fond of Tyler Hansbrough and Danny Green on the Tar Heels. ...Is it me—or has Jason Kidd stepped up his game since not being named an All-Star? ...The Kings won two straight on the road.
