July 21, 2009 part II ...Darren Collison looked strong in the Vegas Summer League for the Hornets. He did anything he wanted to do, scoring 18.5 ppg, with four assists per game. Collison made 29 of 30 free throws in posting the highest EFR (.582) for PG’s that played over 100 minutes. ...Dallas’ Rodrigue Beaubois was nice as well. The cat-quick guard scored 17 ppg, with four assists and three rebounds per game in just 26 minutes per outing.  ...If he can maintain his weight, Garret Siler is an NBA player in my opinion. The BIG man from D-II Augusta State - in just 21 minutes per game, showed big time rebounding ability with seven boards per game. He averaged eight ppg, and two blocks per. ... July 17, 2009 ...We are obsessing over Summer League but don’t get it twisted - I know what basketball in the summer means. Squat. Zippo. I love Pete Chilcutt but I will never forget that he once looked dominant at times in Summer ball. But that does not mean you can’t refine your thoughts about players, especially those that play limited minutes during the regular season. ...You also come across some players with potential that you just didn’t know much of anything about. I was not hip to the talents of David Monds, Robert Battle, Othyus Jeffers, or Trey Gilder. ...If I am voting - and I don’t think they should vote until the Summer League is over - I would pencil in Anthony Randolph as the MVP of the Vegas Summer League. Joey Dorsey would be number two on my ballot at this point followed by Chase Budinger, Quincy Douby, and DaJuan Blair. ...Thursday’s top 15 players by efficiency at the Vegas Summer League (must have played at least 15 min. 30 sec.):  1.
