September 27, 2005 ...Minnesota did something well! They signed Richie Frahm who I view as a bargain as a combo-guard. ...The Lakers signed Will Conroy. I’m not wild about that one. The Heat did well to get Gary Payton but I strongly dislike the Shandon Anderson signing. ...Chicago is the big winner of recent days with inkings of Tyson Chandler and Darius Songaila. We love Chandler’s upside.

September 16, 2005 ...Hey hey—the National racing tour was in California the last two weeks—so I took a break from hoops to fulfill my obligations to the racing events (my real job). ...Lots of stuff to cover. I like the Kings getting Luis Flores into camp. He can shoot. He was 2003 MAAC Player of the Year. Flores is awesome off the dribble. He can create his shot. He’s cool, calm, never ruffled or rattled. Flores can score in almost every way. He can bail an offense out deep in the shot clock. …Reminds me of Dana Barros but not as good of a passer. He has a quick release three and he'll shoot it in the defenders eye.  For those that say he played no competition in college, he scored 22 points at Syracuse. He will rush some shots because he is a scorer, and he often gets in trouble in the paint because of lack of size. When he is driving, he can take a hit. Good athlete. He ranked ninth in overall athleticism at the 2004 NBA Pre-Draft camp. ...The Kings are also said to have Ricky Paulding coming into camp. Paulding is an NBA athlete but his game needs to come along before we see him making an NBA roster. ...I thought the Nets were smart to snatch up Lamond Murray. He has improved his shooting ability over the years and Jason Kidd will believe in him, being a former Cal Bears player, and all.  ...I am strongly against these signings—meaning I believe money was wasted; Yuta Tabuse to the Clippers, and Anthony Carter back with Minnesota. ...I applaud Phoenix for landing Eddie House. He was solid with Sacramento. ...James Singleton has a job in the NBA. The Clippers are giving him a shot. I thought he should have been drafted a couple years back. ...The Spurs are still dope but I’m just saying Michael Finley 2005 isn’t MF 2000.
