The 2006 NBA Draft. Our list updated as of April 17, 2006.
By Bobby Gerould Rocklin, CA.
As is always the case - our NBA Draft list will
change many times before selection day in June. I start concentrating more on international
players once the NCAA Tournament is complete. I have logged stats for over 700
non-professional players. The resulting list of my top 100 is based on
adjusted efficiency, relative to a players future pro position, only.
Further lists will include more of my own common-sense, and feel.
The list below is of Seniors only and those who have
declared (as of April 17) for the 2006 NBA Draft. It also includes
a few international players who were in last years draft before pulling
out.
- Tyrus Thomas LSU. Game changing shot blocking
ability combined with floor running skills make Thomas number one.
- Shelden Williams Duke. He will most likely be
moved down by younger players who announce they are coming out.
NBADraft.net ranks him 14th.
- Paul
Millsap Louisiana Tech. The best rebounder in
college hoops. NBADraft.net ranks him 25th.
- Rudy
Fernandez Spain. It is rare when I see a guard
with the efficiency of this Spanish MVP. NBADraft.net ranks him 23rd.
- Nick Fazekas
Nevada. Upper body moves faster than his 70 frame. Good
hand-eye athletic sense. NBADraft.net ranks him 40th.
- Yemi
Nicholson Denver. 611 Center is a late bloomer. Does he have the
desire to be a great player?
- LeMarcus Aldridge Texas. Right handed big man has big
upside.
- J.P.
Batista Gonzaga. Is he really any better
than Lonny Baxter? NBADraft.net ranks him 58th.
- Michael Southall Louisiana Lafayette. Little known guy played two
years of college ball and did jail time. Shot blocker is 610.
- Taj Gray Oklahoma. His quickness translates well
to the NBA game. NBADraft.net ranks him 47th.
- Dusan Sakota Greece. NBADraft.net doesnt have him
being drafted.
- Brandon Roy
Washington. A scorer, and ball-handler that can
handle any situation with ease. NBADraft.net has him ninth.
- Andrea
Bargnani Italy. 20 year old seven footer is rated in the top-eight
by everyone else. NBADraft.net has him sixth.
- P.J. Tucker Texas. He is a basketball player.
Some are worried about his position. NBADraft.net ranks him 32nd.
- Paul
Davis Michigan State. Serviceable big man is not as
good as Chris Mihm was in college. NBADraft.net
ranks 34th.
- Curtis
Withers Charlotte. Withers has
toughness and size. His background check will be key.
- Brad Buckman Texas. Im not sure how much better
a player his body will allow him to be.
- Rudy Gay
Connecticut. Great length excites NBA scouts.
- Hassan Adams Arizona. He will be among the NBAs
elite athletes. If he gets a consistent j look out. NBADraft.net ranks
him 29th.
- Eric
Hicks Cincinnati. I like him. NBADraft.net
ranks him 51st.
- Marco Killingsworth Indiana. Is he any better than Marcus Fizer? NBADraft.net ranks him 30th.
- Rajon Rando Kentucky. Early entry is a rebounding
guard. NBADraft.net ranks him 19th.
- Larry
Owens Oral Roberts. No one else is hyping Owens. I am. Defensive
Player of the Year in Mid-Con.
- Mike Gansey West Virginia. He will be a crowd favorite
for his court savvy. NBADraft.net ranks him 35th.
- Kevin Pittsnogle West Virginia. He needs to get to the line
more. NBADraft.net ranks him 27th.
- Nate Harris Utah State. He shot over 60% FG every
year of his college career!
- Craig
Smith Boston College. I see Smith as a Corliss Williamson type post scorer. NBADraft.net
ranks him 33rd.
- Brian
Thornton Xavier. Good ballplayer with exceptional academic record.
- Curtis Stinson
Iowa State. So far Stinson is the highest rated underclassman on our
deal.
- Justin
Williams Wyoming. This guy could rise on the charts due to
tremendous shot blocking instincts.
- Aaron Gray Pittsburgh.
Space eater can really rebound. He has a long way to go otherwise.
NBADraft.net ranks him 22nd.
- Josh Boone Connecticut. Junior from Connecticut runs
the floor and blocks shots. More turnovers than assists. Also 26th
by NBADraft.net
- Nemanja Aleksandrov
Belgrade. A 611 European player that will turn 19 in a few days.
- Richard Roby
Colorado. This cat has explosion in his game. A nice guard that will rise
on charts. NBADraft.net ranks him 20th.
- Jamaal
Williams Washington. He reminds me of Michael
Finley a bit. Hell need to hit more jump shots in the NBA.
- Greg
Brunner Iowa. Crafty Iowa baller
competes. He is the hardest dunking bald white guy I know of.
- Chuck
Davis Alabama. Hes more Four than Three but
he can become a better shooter.
- J.J.
Redick Duke. A great shooter that moves
well without the ball. He competes. NBADraft.net ranks him 16th.
- Lawrence
Wright Bradley. Underrated shooting guard.
- Nik Caner Medley Maryland. Versatile offensive player.
NBADraft.net ranks him 45th.
- Steve
Novak Marquette. Might be a better shooter
than Redick. NBADraft.net ranks him 57th.

shot 39% FG for his college career. NBADraft.net ranks him 18th.

Jones Washington. Defender also does a bit of everything well.
- Adrian
Tigert UW Milwaukee. Good decision maker.

- Eric
Williams Wake Forest. A four year starter at Wake.
He scores in the low post.

college Billy Dee Williams.
- Keydren
Clark St. Peters. Clark became the shortest player
ever to lead Division I in scoring at 5'9" doing so twice.
- Ian
Johnson Davidson. 69 and can shoot the perimeter shot.
Scored 23
points against Syracuse on 12/18/05.

- Jekel
Foster Ohio St. Foster scored 28 points on 9-12 FG in a big win @
Iowa State 12/17/05.

Hite Miami. Dude can finish with the best in the world. A real
high-flyer.

Woods SouthEastern Louisiana. 65 shooting guard rebounds like a
power forward.

nicely to the NBA.

Lewis George Mason. 67 post man is a smart player.

NBADraft.net ranks him 39th.
- Rodney Carney
Memphis. Rated higher by everyone. I see a more athletic version of Ron
Mercer.
- Marcellus
Sommerville Bradley. Tough kid has an NBA body. He works on defense.
The After Party (I like him = my common sense will
move the player up on future lists.)
- Christian Maraker
Pacific. If you give him an open look you think its going in.
- Mike
Hall George Washington. Good defender with nice size for a small
forward at 68.
- Terrell Everett
Oklahoma. Great size for a point guard.
- Carl Krauser
Pittsburgh. I like him. Great confidence in his own game.
A little warrior.
- Daniel
Kickert St. Marys. Aussie may not be quick enough for the NBA. He
can play offense though.
- Matt Haryasz Stanford. He perplexes me. He can
dominate at times or look really amateur. NBADraft.net ranks him 48th.
- Randy
Foye Villanova. Foye
is a nice guard that has seen it all. Hell be in the show for sure.
NBADraft.net ranks him 11th
- Brandon Bowman Georgetown. 69 and can guard threes but
doesnt shoot the three well enough yet. NBADraft.net 43rd.

guard.
