BasslineSpin.com

As I do every year (since 1999) - I have my own independent thoughts about the NBA Draft. My method starts with observation, science and math and then is smoothed out with what I call "our feel" for the future ability of each prospect.

I start by watching all the college basketball I can. We get the Full Court package from DirecTV that allows us to see smaller conference games, as well as the usual ESPN and CBS games. When I see a player I think has the tools - I begin compiling all the known statistics for the player. This means I actually use a calculator and add the numbers for each season. For domestic products - I compile their numbers from their ESPN.com college basketball page. Many players also have played in the USA Basketball youth festival or Hoop Summit. If so - I use the calculator again and add those numbers. For international prospects - the process is the same but I refer to international web sites such as AdriaticBasket.com, EuroLeague.net, and others.

Once the numbers are plugged in - I have a formula set up on microsoft excel that will spit out an efficiency rating. I then adjust the "EFR" based on strength of schedule. I use Jeff Sagarin's college basketball ratings from USAToday.com to make these adjustments. For international prospects - I adjust based on the general consensus of the level of the league being played in. I also use the player's age as a factor - and make a slight positive adjustment for younger players aged 19-21. 22 year-olds remain static, and those over 22 receive a negative adjustment.

Once the adjusted EFR is established - I do what I call a "relative position ranking". This is only possible because I take the time each year to rank all NBA players by their efficiency at each position. For instance - I came up with a .580 adjusted EFR for prospect Kosta Koufos - a freshman center for Ohio State. I then look at the NBA Centers ranking and I find that a .580 EFR would rank 12th behind in order (Amare, Bynum, D. Howard, Yao, Biedrins, Camby, Gasol, Kamen, Ilgauskas, Shaq, and I added Greg Oden who does not yet have a EFR.) Next I have to consider the Centers in THIS draft that are ahead of Koufos. I found six of those. The result is that Koufos ends up with a ranking of 18 at his position. I do the same thing for all 225 players in my "draft eligible" database.

This leaves me a ranking of draft prospects from 1-225. At this point - the science ceases, and I move players up or down based on "feel" - asking these questions. Do I think the player can improve? Did the player play with other talented guys? If a BIG - did he play with a good point guard? If a point guard - did he play with BIGS capable of finishing? What kind of pace did the team play at? Does the kid have any red flags? Can I trust him? Does the prospect LOVE basketball or is hoops less serious to them? Will too much weight be an issue?

What do other experts think about the prospect? I do value the opinions of a select group of people. I have had limited discussions with scouts, and player personell types in the Sacramento Kings front office. I read all the data on DraftExpress.com, (especially helpful is the measurements page). I listen intently when Jay Bilas speaks on ESPN.

The final ranking reflects all things considered.

My final BasslineSpin.com rankings:

1. Michael Beasley - Kansas State. 6'9" 220. PF/SF Frosh. ...I like Beasley as the number one pick due to his productivity last season at Kansas St. He is a forward with skill that has an easy time scoring. He makes his moves quickly on the box. A scorer. Left handed but uses his right hand well. ...As a freshman at Kansas St. he shot 53% FG and 76% free throw. ...On the negative side - he has more turnovers than assists. Washington D.C., native averaged 28.0 points, 16 rebounds, 4.5 blocks, four assists and two steals during his high school senior campaign, leading his team to the prep school national title. He was honored as the MVP of the McDonald's All-America game in 2007 and was named to the Parade, Nike Brand and McDonald's All-America teams. Beasley has also been part of the USA National Team for the past two years. ...In 2001 Kwame Brown was the #1 pick. Our advice was to select Shane Battier.

2. Kevin Love - UCLA. 6'9" 255. PF. Frosh. ... A very skilled big man. Fundamentally sound. He sees plays quicker than others. High hoops I.Q. The best outlet passer in college hoops. Good hands. Strong. He accepts a challenge. …Not a good jumper or runner. Flat footed. …As a Bruin freshman - Love averaged 17 points, and 10.6 rebounds per game. ...His percentages are 56% FG, 76%FT, and 36% 3-pt. ...My bottom line with Love is that I had a very strong gut feeling watching him play that he helps a team win. He battles. His skill evel is super high even if his ceiling to improve is not nearly as high as others in the draft. I think Love can help right now. ...In 2003 Darko Milicic was the 2nd pick. Our advice was to select Carmelo Anthony.

3. Derrick Rose - Memphis. 6'4" 180. PG. Frosh. ...2007-08 Conference USA Freshman of the Year. ...Super athletic point guard plays with world class speed and precision. Great body and strength. Changes directions more quickly than almost anyone I've ever seen. Owns a 40" vertical. ...Not a great shooter but not horrible either. 70% FT. …Named to First Team All C-USA 2007-08. I think Rose can be a top-ten NBA point guard but he has a way to go before he is worthy of being the overall top pick. The biggest factor in this evaluation is that his assist-to-turnover ratio is solid but not spectacular. He had 184 assists, and 103 turnovers last year at Memphis. People want to compare him to Deron Williams (Utah) or Chris Paul (New Orleans) but Williams and Paul both had assist-to-turnover ratios of well better than 2:1 at Illinois and Wake Forest respectively. ...I like Derrick Rose. He elevated his play when it mattered most in the NCAA Tournamant. ...In 2006 the 3rd pick was Adam Morrison. Our advice was to take Tyrus Thomas.

4. Marreese Speights - Florida. 6'10" 250. C/PF. Soph. ... Name is pronounced Ma-REESE SPATES. ...In my estimation this kid is being horribly underrated. He is a quick jumper with great length. He averaged 14.5 points, and eight rebounds as a Sophomore. He has good hands and enough finesse inside to convert difficult put backs. He shot 63% FG for hs two seasons as a Gator. I have heard questions about his overall intelligence and or motivation which may be what is scaring teams away. ... Why am I so high on Speights? Efficiency. His .818 EFR is actually higher than Kevin Durant's .789 from last year. In 2001 - the fourth pick was Eddy Curry. Our advice was to select Shane Battier.

5. Danilo Gallinari - Italy. 6'9" 209. SF. 19 y-o. ...Average athleticism - high skill. Right handed. Good ball handler that gets to the free throw line at a high rate. Reminds me of a young Tom Chambers. …Won the 2007 Italian All Star Game 3-point shootout contest. Great free throw shooter. ...He is already experienced in playing in big games in Europe. His ball handling ability allows him to be a coast-to-coast threat but his deep shooting is where he will make his money. Christopher Reina, the executive editor of RealGM, has what I feel is among the most complete reports on his game. Pronounced Don-NEAL-o Gal-IN-naree. ...In 1999 the #5 pick was Jonathan Bender. Our advice: take Shawn Marion.

6. Brook Lopez - Stanford - 7'0" 240. C. Soph. ...Great size. Has ability to score in the low post although he can look awkward turing his body and his shot into defenses. Good touch at 76% FT. ...He has the posture of Tim Duncan but Lopez has holes in his game. ...Has nearly two turnovers for every assist. Average rebounder for a BIG. And he shoots only 48% FG - which really is not great for a seven footer. He is also among the slower Centers you will find. …Blocked 12 shots in a triple double performance in win over USC. Also had 18 points, and eleven boards in that game (01/25/07). ...Named to Pac-10 All Freshman Team. ...In 2002 the sixth pick was DaJuan Wagner. Our advice was to select Carlos Boozer.

7. Jerryd Bayliss - Arizona. 6'3" 182 SG/PG. Frosh. ...Versatile guard that can score, and set up teammates. ...Gets good elevation on his jumper. …Bayliss has a super quick first step. He can get his own shot with his combo of ball-handling skills, and quickness. Some folks want to call him a point guard but I think he is a shooting guard that looks to score. He did have more assists than turnovers (1.36-to-1 assist to turnover ratio) last year at Arizona but mostly he is looking to score. ...Bayliss - it should be noted is a very poor rebounder as a guard. ...(For the record - I find myself wondering how much better Bayliss is than Anthony Roberson - who has not yet stuck with an NBA team. I like Roberson and feel he should be in the NBA - but I'm just saying...) ...In 2007 the seventh pick was Corey Brewer. Our advice was to take Joakim Noah.

8. O.J. Mayo - USC. 6'5" 195 SG/PG. Frosh. ...Obviously I am not as wild about Mayo as others are. I like Mayo. This is a deep, good draft - with guards good enough to compare it to the 1999 draft that yielded Rip Hamilton, Baron Davis, Jason Terry, Steve Francis, Andre Miller, and Manu Ginobili. Understanding his stats reflect that he played for a slow pace coach like Tim Floyd, I guess I just can't get past Mayo's mediocre NCAA numbers. He had more turnovers than assists - and he shot just 44% FG. He is not a great rebounder either. He likes to score, and he wants to be the man. I like that but I still question Mayo's ability to be a TEAM player. ...I love his strength and accurate jump shot. That said, he settles for the jump shot too much in my opinion. He does have the ability to create his own shot. ...Born 11/05/1987 - He was a 20 year-old freshman. A scorer. Great shooter that can stroke it with range and consistency. Confident. Quick hands. Dunks with explosion and power. ...Owns a 41" vertical…Won three state titles in high school. Will he be great? Or will he be a guy like Larry Hughes who is good but far from GREAT. ...In 2005 the eighth selection was Channing Frye. Our advice: take Danny Granger.

9. D.J. Augustin - Texas 5'11" 175. PG. Soph. ...More than any other player - I looked past the stats when evaluating Augustin. My gut - after watching his games for two years - tells me he is the kind of team player, and competitor that NBA teams covet. He is a pure point guard that runs a team. He plays at NBA speed. ...Named the Big 12 Preseason Player of the year. ...Owns a great change of pace dribble. Uses the glass well to finish a variety of drives to the hoop. Unselfish. …He will take a charge. Outstanding student. …McDonald's All-American in 2005-06. Was a victim of Hurricane Katrina which destroyed his family's home in the heart of New Orleans along with the school he'd attended from eighth grade through his junior year. His family moved to suburban Houston and Augustin chose Texas over LSU. ...In 2005 the ninth pick was Ike Diogu. Our advice: take Danny Granger.

10. Eric Gordon - Indiana 6'3" 215 SG. Frosh. ...Strong guard that scores. He lives at the free throw line. As a freshman - averaged 21 ppg. Composed. Good deep shooter. Has the ability to get into the lane and either draw a foul or convert. 85% FT shooter. ...Gets to the free throw line with regularity due to his great strength and balance. Has a 40" vertical. …Can hurt his team by taking bad shots. ...Really good athlete that tested out very high during the Orlando pre-draft camp. ...He is a player that I trust because he played hurt. By all accounts a good human being. ...He could be a better ball handler and rebounder. He is turnover prone. In 2003 the tenth pick was Jarvis Hayes. Our advice: Take Josh Howard.

11. Alexis Ajinca - France 7'1" 230 PF/C 20 y-o. ...Long athlete with some finesse in his game. I have to wonder what kind of hype this kid would have had he played in the states the last couple of seasons as opposed to being an international prospect. He just looks like an NBA player. His length is his biggest asset with a standing reach of 9'4"! …Still learning from a skills standpoint but the physical tools are there. Disruptive defensively. Right handed. It was hard to find an acceptable sample size of stats for him so much of this ranking is based on 'feel' and watching him play in the Hoop Summit. The ceiling is too high here to just dismiss him. Pronounced: ah-LEX-ee A-GIN-za. ...In 1999 the 11th pick was Trajan Langdon. Our advice: Take Corey Maggette.

12. Mario Chalmers - Kansas 6'2" 190 PG/SG Jr. ... Chalmers is another guard in this draft that I TRUST. His pedestrian average of 12 points per game last season is overwritten by his ability to play D, and hit big shots. He is a winner and a great defender. Co-Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year 2006-07. He can knock down the deep three. ...Great speed. He finishes strongly. Right handed. ... Has a great court sense and can play either guard spot. his assist-to-turnover ratio last season was 2:25-to-1. That is an unselfish player! ...78% free throw shooter. …MVP of the 2005-06 Big 12 Tourney. ... In 2005 the 12th pick was Yaroslav Korolev. Our advice was to select Danny Granger.

13. Chris Douglas-Roberts - Memphis - 6'7" 200 SF/SG Jr. ... He, not teammate Derrick Rose, was the 2007-08 Conference USA Player of the Year. ...Douglas-Roberts was the leading scorer for Memphis. He can make difficult shots look easy. Hit on 54% FG in his Memphis career! That kind of FG% is fantastic for a guard. ...Right handed. ...Has a mixture of finesse and speed. Seems to really understand the game (as it is played at a fast pace). ...Likes to drive to the left to set up his own shot. …Had the game-winning basket in a win at Gonzaga. …Hit game-clinching free throws at SMU. ...Named to 2006 Conference USA All-Freshman Team. ...In 2002 the 13th pick was Marcus Haislip. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

14. Roy Hibbert - Georgetown 7'2" 272 C SR. ...Really big man does not run that well - but he does have a soft touch. …He gets good position and will dunk many shots. …He blocks shots - and passes the ball well from the high post - but has more turnovers than assists (career). Right handed but does use his left around the basket. ...Has a good understanding of the role of a BIG. ...Listen to his interview in Utah. ...Named First Team All Big East in 2006-07. He shot an incredible 68.8% FG as a junior. ...Body type suggests to me that he will always struggle with weight. Transition defense will always be an issue. He also does not rebound that well. ...But he is efficient in a half-court setting. ...In 2002 the 14th pick was Fred Jones. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

15. Richard Hendrix - Alabama 6'8" 255 PF Jr. ...I see Hendrix as the most underrated player in the draft. ...He is a big man that can dominate inside. He rebounds well with 'suction cups' for hands. Big NBA body. Smart player and good student that does not turn the ball over. Big wide shoulders. He has a knack for converting off the offensive glass on controlled tips. ...Look at this video interview done in Indiana...2006-07 2nd team All S.E.C. ...Scouts seem to be scared of his height. Of course, I say - who cares? You should be looking at standing reach. Hendrix has a standing reach of 9'0". ...His overall efficiency is too good to overlook. He is an underrated shot blocker. ...Golden State interview is here. ...In 2003 the 15th pick was Reece Gaines. We advised: take Josh Howard.

16. Russell Westbrook - UCLA 6'3" 187 PG/SG Soph. ...I liked Westbrook every time I saw him play but I just can't justify him being listed as highly as others have him ranked. His overall efficiency is .385 - which, in the system I rely on, is not good. I get that he is a great athlete and defender. He was the 2007-08 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year. He has that special burst of explosion that makes him incredibly hard to guard. He can create his own shot easily, and he takes good care of the rock. What he has not demonstrated is that he can be a scorer in the NBA. His points per minute numbers as a Bruin were not impressive. …He does take some bad shots. …Good on-ball defender. His numbers are 46% FG, and 68% FT. ...In 2003 the 16th pick was Troy Bell. We advised: take Josh Howard.

17. Goran Dragic - Slovenia 6'4" 175 PG/SG 22 y-o. ...Dragic is an efficient point guard that understands what a good shot is. I like him. Watch some highlights and you can see his high skill level. The numbers support what the eyes see. He is a knock down shooter. His field goal percentage is quite impressive at 61%. He shot 47% from three point range in 2007-08 Adriatic League play. He flows. He is member of the Slovenian national team; played at the 2007 European Championship in Spain; was member of the Slovenian U-20 National Team; played at the 2004 U-20 European Championship; played at the 2005 U-20 European Championship in Russia. ...In 2003 the 17th pick was Zarko Cabarkapa. We advised: take Josh Howard.

18. Jason Thompson - Rider. 6'11" 245 C/PF SR. ...Big time rebounder with an NBA body. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Year his senior season and Defensive Player of the Year in both his junior and senior seasons. ...He runs the floor better than almost anyone his size. …Good footwork in the post. Coordinated and athletic. Big upside. ... See some video of his Phoenix workout. …He goes after the ball with both hands, and rebounds outside his area. ...Was only 6'0" for most of high school but grew eight inches guickly to bring a guard's skill set to a big man body. ...Snared over 1,100 boards, and scored over 2,000 points in his Rider career. ...In 2002 the 18th pick was Curtis Borchardt. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

19. J.J. Hickson - N.C. State 6'9" 240 PF Frosh. ...Big guy can take contact and still hit a shot. …Right handed finisher that coverts at 59% FG. He can rebound at the NBA level right now but is still learning how to pass out of the post which leads to turnovers. ...He isn't very quick but he has good hands and such a solid base that he is hard to move once he establishes position. He draws fouls at a high rate and hits 67% of his free throws. ...In 2002 the 19th pick was Ryan Humphrey. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

20. Ryan Anderson - Cal 6'10" 240 PF/SF Soph. ...Is he strictly a Power Forward? Anderson has a high skill level but can he guard the other FOUR's in the NBA? Offensively - I think he can flat out play. He can shoot - hitting 48% FG, and 85% FT in his two years in Berkeley. He can shoot the three - hitting 41% of his three point attempts. He is a terrific scorer - second only to Beasley in points per minute at the PF position. ...Averaged 16 points, and 7.7 rebounds as a Freshman. …Had 18 points and 14 rebounds in a big home win over Washington (01/13/07). ...In 2003 the 20th pick was Dahntay Jones. We advised: take Josh Howard.

21. Joe Alexander - W. Virginia 6'8" 210 SF/PF Jr. ...This guy's stock has taken off since the end of the NCAA season. He tested out as a great athlete at the Orlando Pre-Draft Camp. He is a versatile and energetic forward with some plastic-man qualities around the basket. Good passer from the high post or perimeter. Right handed but uses his left well. He can score in a variety of ways. Uses ball fakes to get space. He has great speed. …His deep shooting numbers are troubling to me. At 6'8" - he is small for a Power Forward but with a career college 3-pt. shooing percentage of only 29% - he really can't be an offensive Small Forward in my book. Can you play him as a shooting guard? Maybe so - which would allow you to surround him with a better deep shooter at SF. He isn't a horrible shooter. Just not great either. 45% FG and 77% FT. ...In 2002 the 21st pick was Qyntel Woods. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

22. Donte Greene - Syracuse 6'10" 230 SF/PF Frosh. ...He has great size to play Small Forward. He needs to become a more consistent perimeter shooter to really excel at the THREE spot offensively but he has the ability to make NBA plays at NBA speed. And he isn't shy. He wants to score and he wants to shoot the long-ball. ...Greene's biggest weakness in my opinion is his questionable shot selection. ...He is an underrated shot blocker. ...Jordan Classic Co-MVP with 20 pts, 7-12 field goals, 2-4 3-pointers, 4-7 free throws, 3 rebounds, 2 assists in 17 minutes. ...In 2003 the 22nd pick was Zoran Planinic. We advised: take Josh Howard.

23. George Hill - IUPUI 6'2" 180 PG/SG Jr. ...Will someone have the courage to select George Hill in the first round? I would. I like Hill. ...2008 Summit League Player of the Year. Right handed combo guard. Good handles. Can get into the lane and create for himself or others. He gets to the line with regularity. …Hill shoots the ball extremely well with career numbers of 53% FG, and 80% FT. …This year as a junior - he is shot 45% from beyond the college arc. …Most impressive in a win over U-Mass when he went for 30 points, ten boards, and eight assists (12/01/07). ...He scores at a high rate per minute. His assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.46-to-1 is decent for a TWO guard but only decent for a point guard. ...In 2003 the 23rd pick was Travis Outlaw. We advised: take Josh Howard.

24. Ante Tomic - Croatia 7'2" 220 C 21 y.o. ...Skinny but tall. Skilled but not strong. Has great size and post skills. Tomic owns an impressive .660 EFR for all the minutes I can find for him. One drawback may be that he is under contract to KK Zagreb through 2011. He boxes out. Pronounced: ON-tay TOE-mich. See video of Tomic here in dark uniform #4 . ...He was a member of the Croatian U-20 national team; played at the 2006 U-20 European Championship in Turkey; was member of the Croatian Junior national team; played at the 2005 Junior European Championship in Belgrade. ...In 2003 the 24th pick was Brian Cook. We advised: take Josh Howard.

25. Kosta Koufos - Ohio St. 7'1" 245 C - Frosh. ... Big and strong. Solid as a scoring BIG. Decent rebounder and shot blocker. He scored 14.4 points per game while snatching 6.7 rebounds per last season as a Buckeye freshman. ... Koufos struggles as a passer but he is mostly looking to score when he catches - thus he rarely turns the ball over. 67% FT shooter but doesn't get to the free throw line at a high rate. ...He actually likes to shoot the three ball....In 2002 the 25th pick was Frank Williams. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

26. Nicolas Batum - Le Mans 6'8" 214 SF 19 y.o. ... Batum is an unselfish, athletic, long small forward that defends. He will pass the ball ahead. He runs the floor and finishes. He claims to have patterned his game after Scottie Pippen. ...Good timing. A skilled player with athleticism. …Can remind you of Tayshaun Prince. …His wingspan is 7'1". Right handed. ...See video of Batum here. ...More assists than turnovers. He runs with grace. ...Not a great scoring threat. Not a good rebounder at all for a man 6'8". He is a finesse Small Forward. ...His Portland interview is here in French (but keep watching to hear Kevin Pritchard after Batum) . ...In 2003 the 26th pick was Ndubi Ebi. We advised: take Josh Howard.

27. Darrell Arthur- Kansas 6'9" 230 PF Soph. ...Overrated in my opinion. Arthur averaged 12.8 points and 6.3 rebounds at Kansas last season on the National Championship team. He had only five 20+ point games as a sophomore. His assist to turnover ratio is about one-to-three. He is only a 67% free throw shooter. ...Arthur has ability but doesn't get to the free throw line very often. He does have good speed for a big man. ...First name is pronounced - dur-RELL. ...In 2002 the 27th pick was Chris Jeffries. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

28. DeAndre Jordan - Texas A&M 6'11" 250 C Frosh. ...If there is one player that should be better than he is - it is DeAndre Jordan. He has all the physical gifts you could ask for in a young Center. But he just doesn't know how to play team basketball yet. As a prep - Jordan was the top BIG-man prospect in the state of Texas. …Knows his own game - doesn't take bad shots. ...More turnovers than assists - his ratio is a putrid 1:4. ...He shoots a high FG% (63%) due to many dunks but he is not a scorer per se. ...Horrid at the free throw line at 44%. ...He is a good rebounder. His standing reach of 9'5" is among the best in the entire draft. ...In 2002 the 28th pick was Dan Dickau. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

29. Brandon Rush - Kansas 6'6" 207 SG/SF Jr. ... Rush is a defense stretcher that can guard well on the perimeter. A better athlete than people think he is. …Plays no defense away from the ball but can block a shot on the ball. He should fit in nicely in the NBA as a guy who can hit three point shots and finish in transition. ...Takes good care of the ball. On the negative side - he does not get to the FT line much at all. ...See his Indiana interview. ...2005-06 Big 12 Freshman of the Year. ...Had 21 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists in the Roundball Classic 2005. Right handed. Little brother of Jaron Rush and Kareem Rush. …Member of Junior National Select Team for USA Basketball. He can finish with electrifying dunks. ...Suffered a torn ACL in May 2007. ...In 2002 the 29th pick was Steve Logan. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

30. Kyle Weaver - Washington St. 6'5" 185 PG SR. ...One of my favorite players in this draft is Kyle Weaver. Good speed. Plays defense. He is the Mr. Do Everything Man. Author of the first Triple Double in Washington State history. ...From Beloit, Wisc., ...He is not a great scorer but that is not his game either. He is a "glue" guy. He rebounds very well for a guard and he is unselfish. ...The Cougars leader in assists, steals and rebounds, and second in blocked shots and scoring (11.2 points per game). He also is among the Pac-10 leaders in assists, steals, blocks and rebounds. Weaver is the first player in Pac-10 history to reach 300 points, 125 assists, 125 rebounds, 50 steals and 35 blocks in the same season. As a sophomore in conference games, his 53.0 field goal percentage ranked second. ...In 2003 the 30th pick was Maciej Lampe. We said: take Kyle Korver.

31. Nikola Pekovic - Serbia 6'11" 243 PF...Pekovic is a first round talent but he is under contract in Europe. Excitable power player. Good shooter is averaging 18 points, and eight rebounds per game in the EuroLeague (as of 01/31/08). He is a good scorer and excellent offensive rebounder. Pronounced: O-mair A-sheek. ...In 2002 the 32nd pick was Vincent Yarbrough. We said: take Carlos Boozer.

33. Bill Walker - Kansas St. 6'6" 225 SG Frosh. ...Walker has a history of injuries but he also has lottery type talent. This seems about the point to me - where you can no longer let him slip further. ...Athletic and explosive. Walker has an NBA body and he has a knack for scoring. He rebounds well for a guard - especially of the offensive glass. ...On the negative side - he game is very undisciplined. He turns the ball over at a high rate. His shooting numbers are 46% FG, 73 % FT. ...Walker suffered a slight tear in the meniscus of his right knee in a mass workout in Oakland. The right knee was also hurt in high school and in his freshman year of college where the diagnosis was a torn ACL....In 2003 the 33rd pick was Jerome Beasely. We said: take Kyle Korver.

34. D.J. White - Indiana 6'9" 230 PF/C SR. ...White is a legitimate NBA BIG MAN prospect. He has what I call "suction cups" for hands - making him a great rebounder. His footwork offensively in the post is very nice. He can score in a variety of ways with his back to the basket. A guy that can not only make the move but finish also finish the play. 2007-08 Big Ten Player of the Year. ...Somewhat foul prone. Played hurt (with strained knee) as a Senior leader. ...was named Second Team All Big Ten as a Junior. ...Former Big Ten Freshman of the Year as voted by the coaches.
