Butler, Da'Sean West Virginia 6'7" 205 SF SR. Butler is a smart "glue" type player that I think could fit in with any team if he is healthy. He suffered a torn ACL during the 2010 NCAA Tournament. ...He does not do anything GREAT but he does many things well. Probably best as a rebounder, and deep shooter. This season, he averaged 17 points and six boards per game while shooting a very respectable 36% from three point range. He had slightly more assists than turnovers in his WV career. ...He could be a better free throw shooter (69%). ...Butler was praised by former coach Jim Beilein for picking up the offense at West Virginia as quickly as any kid he has ever coached. ...Life isn't fair. Butler getting injured on April 4th, two and a half months before the Draft ultimately keeps me from putting him in my top 60. One of my rules is do not trade for or draft an injured player. If the player was a lottery type talent - I might at least re-think that policy. But Butler is not a lottery type talent. He is simply a good player. I could never justify drafting Butler when there are so many solid guards in this deep second round.

Please read this excellent piece on Butler written by Scott Howard Cooper.

Where do I expect Butler to be taken? Somewhere around 46th.

Our best advice: In 2003 - the 46th pick was Erazem Lorbek. We said - "take Ryan Gomes".

Our worst advice: For whatever reason - I've never been outsmarted on the 46th pick. Mostly because the 46th pick in the NBA Draft the last eleven years has been no good. Check out who was drafted below. (And who we recommended).

1999 - JR Koch (Derek Hood), 2000 - DeeAndre Hulet (harold Arceneaux), 2001 - Ousmane Cisse (Nakeia Miller), 2002 - Jamal Sampson (Darius Songaila), 2003 - Sani Becirovic (Kyle Korver), 2004 - Ha Seung Jin (Ricky Minard), 2005 - Erazem Lorbek (Ryan Gomes), 2006 - Dee Brown (Hassan Adams), 2007 - Stephen Lasme (Ali Traore), 2008 - Trent Plaisted (Richard Hendrix), 2009 - Danny Green (Danny Green)
