NBA Draft Scouting 2002

28. Josh Davis

Wyoming 6'8" 235 PF - SR.

Hard-nosed, inside-ouside threat, that rebounds well. Right handed. He has some explosion in his legs, with a reported 38" verticle leap. He reacts extremely quickly. This allows him to be a good, agressive defender. However, foul trouble haunted his Wyoming career. He has good quickness, but not great speed. Has legitimate NBA 3 point range. Davis was the Mountain West Player of the Year as a junior, but faded to 2nd team all-conference in his Sr. year. Fiery. Needs to work on ball handling, and playing with more finesse. ...Not a GREAT rebounder, but a good one. Shows no hesitation in his post game. He's going straight to the hole. His baby hook shot is legit. ...Will graduate in June with a psychology degree. And he is getting married to Wyoming soccer star Jessica Piccone on Aug. 10, his 22nd birthday. I like this guy.
