| Edwards, Gavin | Connecticut | 6'9" | 234 | PF | SR. | Edwards is a finesse BIG that really runs the floor well. The right-hander improved as he matured in the NCAA. He became more aggressive as he gained comfort. …In 2009-10 he posted averages of 10.6 points, and 6.5 rebounds on excellent shooting percentages 59%FG, 78% FT. He is strong enough to dunk in traffic. ...He needs to be much more aware of his teammates. His assist-to-turnover ratio is ugly at one assist for every 2.34 turnovers. ...Needs to be stronger with the ball. I've seen him get stripped of the ball too many times. Edwards also was disappointing down the stretch in a tumultuous season at UConn. To be fair - all UConn players went through a hard stretch when their coach Jim Calhoun took a leave of absence in mid-season. That said - the great ones find a way to play and excel through all storms. Edwards did the opposite. I am not a big fan of Edwards' game relative to the other NBA BIGS. I see him as a Euro pro at best. ...Edwards Dad played in the NFL for four different teams. |
Where do I expect Edwards to be taken? He most likely will not be drafted.
Good advice: In 2001- Mehmet Okur was was the 37th pick. We had him listed 33rd.
Poor advice: In 2002 - We had Michael Bradley listed 6th. He was picked 17th. In 2010 Bradley was hired by The Summit Country Day School in Cincinnati, Ohio to be the coach of the Silver Knights varsity basketball team.
