| Garcia, Charlie | Seattle University | 6'9" | 232 | PF | Jr. | Garcia is among the bigger mysteries of the 2010 NBA Draft. His games were not on national television so I admit that I only saw him play one game - a regional telecast of Seattle U hosting Portland State. Of course I didn’t stop there. I also have studied his statistics, and read whatever material I can find on him. …Here's my take on Garcia. ...He has an Otis Thorpe body combined with the skill set of a Small or Power Forward. He can power through contact to score. He is unquestionably a NBA athlete. ...He can really run and finish in transition. He hits the offensive glass. He has a quick spin in the low post that allows him to score. ...He can handle the ball - but you don't want him to due to his poor decision making. He had 124 turnovers with just 32 assists in his one and only season at Seattle. ...He was efficient - posting a solid .563 EFR - but Seattle's schedule was not tough at all. ...His shooting numbers were not great either despite the nice touch he possesses. ... .474 FG%, .615 FT %, .277 3-pt%. ...The word POTENTIAL applies mostly in this draft to Garcia and Hassan Whiteside. |
Where do I expect Garcia to be taken? Somewhere around 51st.
Our best advice: In 2002 - The 51st pick was Marcus Taylor. We said, "take Udonis Haslem".
Our worst advice: We've never been outsmarted when it comes to the 51st pick. The NBA has produced one productive player at pick #51 in the last eleven years. Here is a list of who was selected 51st since 1999 (and who we advised to pick):
