Hammons, A.J. Purdue 7'0" 251 C SR. Hammons had a spectacular Senior season, showing signs of truly understanding the role of a BIG. He is a shot-blocking threat that can also score in the post. His improvement as a Senior should not be taken lightly. He was All-Big Ten and the league's Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 15.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. He shot 59% FG, and 70% FT in 2015-16.  Hammons finished his career as 1-of-2 players in Big Ten history with 1,500 career points, 900 career rebounds and 340 career blocked shots (the other is Joe Barry Carroll). ...Hammons impressed with the way he improved his body from his freshman to to Senior season. ...Hammons is 23 years old and he will be 24 when the 2016-17 NBA season starts. Even if you discount his stock due to being an older prospect, it would be foolish to discount him too much. He is a solidly skilled seven footer with the width and shot blocking ability to impact an NBA game. ...I like Hammons more than most seem to.
