| Hayward, Lazar | Marquette | 6'6" | 226 | SF/SG | SR. | Among our favorite players in the NCAA is Lazar Hayward. He is tough yet poised and plays like a seasoned veteran. ...He has a wide and strong body - weighing in at 225+ lbs but he seems to get anywhere he needs to get. In other words - he uses his body well. He has a quick second jump and he is unselfish. He will sacrifice his body for the team - often taking charges. He can guard Small Forwards even though he played more FOUR at Marquette. He finished at Marquette as the second leading career scorer behind Jerel McNeal. ...Offensively - he is nice with his back-to-basket game. Right-handed. He has a quick spin that starts above the free throw line that befuddles defenders. He will finish through contact. He can hit a three point shot (34%) or bang inside. Mostly - he plays offense from 15' and in. He makes his shots in close. Very coordinated. ...He averaged 18 points, and eight boards per game. …He rebounds outside his area. ...He sets screens. ...Has good hands - and often was able to strip opposing Centers of the ball. ...Puts some heat on his passes. Not a great ball handler but he can put the ball in the hole. …79% FT, for his career. ...He plays under control. ...The kind of kid that accepts a challenge. ...I think Lazar Hayward is good enough all-around to be an NBA player yet I doubt he will be a star. |
Where do I expect Lazar Hayward to be taken? Somewhere around 58th (which is a travashamockery).
