Jones, Dominique South Florida 6'5" 216 SG, PG Jr. At first glance with Dominique Jones - I said - "no - not an NBA player". I didn't think he was fast enough. However after watching him more and more I changed my mind to "probably an NBA player." He is a right handed guard with a strong base that improved his field goal percentage from 41% to 49% from his sophomore to junior year. In 2009-10 he led the Big East in scoring. What sold me on Jones is that he is the rare scorer that is also a willing passer. He has good vision. ...He moves without the ball. He helps out on the glass. ...Calm demeanor.  ...Not super athletic but he is skilled and his neck and shoulders are sturdy. He gets to the rim and he invites contact. He has a runner and a nice offensive game. He uses his jab step effectively to gain space. ...His strength is a key to his game. He has some Chauncey Billups 'back you down' game. He is a creative shot maker. ...He can be a little lax on defense. ...Says his strengths are: "Getting into the lane and scoring. Also getting into the lane and kicking it out to a shooter for a 3... pulling up for my floater.  I can do a variety of things." ...Jones was First Team All Big East in 2009-10.

Where do I expect Jones to be taken? Somewhere around 33rd.

Our best advice: In 2003 - the 33rd pick was Walter Beasely. We said - "take Kyle Korver".

Our worst advice: In 2006 - the 33rd pick was Solomon Jones. We said - "take P.J. Tucker".
