| Motiejunas, Donatas | Lithuania | 7'0" | 224 | C, PF, SF | 9/20/1990 | This kid had lots to like when I first saw him in the Nike Hoop Summit a few years back. However - in following his numbers he has not progressed the way an NBA hopeful should. He is a seven foot "stretch four" that hits three point shots and handles the ball like a Small Forward. He is mostly a scorer. he uses either hand around the hoop but prefers to go left. ...He makes NBA speed passes with great vision but he also turns it over more than twice for every assist. Most of his turnovers come from trying to do too much. …Long and lanky. Left handed. ...Disrupts perimeter shooters. ...Not a great free throw shooter at 69% for all the attempts I can find for him. ...You expect a seven-footer to shoot better than 49% FG - but that is the percentage for Motiejunas this season. He also doesn't rebound well for his position. If he had the foot speed to guard SF's - I might still like him. But he doesn't. I've really soured on him as a potential NBA star. I'm honestly not sure if he is worth drafting. |
