Ogilvy, A.J. Vanderbilt 6'11" 250 C Jr. By the per-minute numbers only - Ogilvy should be a lottery pick. He is very efficient. However - when I watched him play I was under whelmed. He came across as relatively slow. He had more than twice as many turnovers as assists for his Vandy career. His teams lost big games in the NCAA Tournament to Murray St.(2010), and Siena (2008) ...On the plus side - Ogilvy is the rare BIG that has a soft touch on his shot. For his career at Vandy, the big Australian shot 55% FG, and  74% FT. He became only the second player in Commodore history to score 1,000 points and record 100 blocks. ...He is not a speed demon but ala Brad Miller he somehow takes BIGS off the dribble. ...Right handed, and knows how to play. He does not force his game at all. ...Defensively - he will sacrifice his body and take a charge. …Can be a bit too passive. ...Needs to be more aggressive. Ogilvy is a bit of an enigma in the sense that you are not sure which A.J. will show up. When he was "on" he was a factor. The Commodores went 22-1* over his three seasons when he scored at least 20 points. Vanderbilt was just 3-10* when Ogilvy scored in single digits (*stats from BleacherReport.com). ...When he is not super aggressive - you are left wondering why?

For all you may really need to know about Ogilvy - read this piece by the former editor of Vandy's student paper.

Where do I expect Ogilvy to be taken? Somewhere around 60th.

Our best advice: In 2002 - the 57th pick was Corsley Edwards. We said - "take Udonis Haslem".

Our worst advice: In 2005 - the 57th pick was Marcin Gortat. We said - "take Omar Thomas". ...Thomas is now playing very well in Italy - averaging 18.3 points.
