| Quayle, Jared | Utah St. | 6'1" | 180 | PG | SR. | I like Jared Quayle. I think, although he is older than most in the Draft, that Quayle has the advanced skill level to make an NBA roster. I also think he will look better playing with NBA athletes (something he did not have the luxury of at Utah State.) ...Quayle is an accurate shooting Point Guard that owns an over two-to-one assist-to-turnover ratio. He is active - helping out on the boards - where he grabs six rebounds per contest despite his smallish stature at 6'1". He might remind you of Mark Price with his quick release jumper and ability to find the open spots in an offense. Quayle is not quite in Price-land as Quayle shoots 82% from the line. ...Right handed . Quayle averaged 12 points, and four assists per game. "He can score, pass, and handle the basketball" said Stew Morrill - Utah State Head Coach. Quayle hit 42% from three point range as a Senior. Quicker than he looks. ...He played JUCO ball in Wyoming and was 5th in the nation in scoring at 24 ppg. ...Gets after it defensively - and gives honest effort. Quayle is 25 years old and married. ...Can he guard anyone? I'm not sure. But the criticisms of a guy like Quayle would be the same things you might say about Steve Nash if he were in this draft. ...Final thought. The only team I know of that has worked Quayle out is Utah. The Jazz were the smart ones that nabbed Wesley Matthews last year when Matthews was an undrafted free agent. |
Where do I expect Quayle to be taken? He will not be drafted but hopefully someone will give him a shot in Summer League. Read more here.
Our best advice: In 2002 - Jannero Pargo went undrafted. We had him as the 27th pick.
Our worst advice: In 2002 - We had Aaron McGhee listed 21st. He was left undrafted. The MVP of the 2002 Portsmouth pre-draft camp now plays professionally in Israel.
