Sabonis, Domantis Gonzaga  6'10" 230 C soph. Domas is the son of international basketball superstar Arvydas Sabonis. Domas is 20 years old. He was born in Portland, OR. but has citizenship in both the USA and in Lithuania. Sabonis averaged 17.6 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. Sabonis is a fiery competitor with skill, and size. He shot a remarkable 63% FG over the course of his two seasons in the NCAA. Sabonis also brings it on the defensive end. He led the West Coast Conference in defensive rating (90.8) as a freshman, and finished second in that category this season. He improved his free throw shooting this season to 76% (he was 66% FT as freshman). He needs to become a better decision maker with the ball. Having Arvydas as his father, one might assume Domas is a passing wizard. Not so at all. He had 97 assists and 151 turnovers in two season at Gonzaga. ...The concern I have with Sabonis is his relative lack of athleticism and the fact that he has short arms for a NBA BIG. His last measured wingspan showed him at 6'10.5" (or only a half inch more than his 6'10" height at the time). That was not an issue in the West Coast Conference but it might be in the NBA. The last official measurement I have for him was from 2015. I believe he has actually grown taller. It would not surprise me if he is now a seven footer.

In 2011, the 12th pick in the NBA Draft was Alec Burks. We advised, "Draft Kawhi Leonard."
