Simmons, Ben  LSU 6'10" 239 SF frosh. Ben Simmons has elite athleticism and tremendous court vision. He was the USBWA Freshman of the Year for 2015-16. Simmons averaged 19.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He was tested in 2015 and produced a 42.5" max. vert. His strengths include: rebounding, and having the ability to get himself to the free throw line. His shooting stroke is a work in progress. He shot 67% FT, and made just one of three attempts from beyond the college arc at LSU. We've heard some say he could play point guard. We say, not really. While he does have a solid 1.45-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio, that number is not strong enough to merit playing PG. Defensively, Simmons' 98.4 DEFRTG is significantly better than the LSU team DEFRTG. ...Simmons is from Australia. ...In our opinion, Simmons should be the clear-cut number one pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. He projects as a future All-Star.

In 2013 the 1st pick in the NBA Draft was Anthony Bennett. We advised, "draft Victor Oladipo."
