Stephenson, Lance Cincinnati 6'6" 227 SG Frosh. Lance Stephenson was a New York high school phenom. He is a strong, right handed guard that can take his man off the dribble - and he plays with a chip on his shoulder. ...A tremendous one-on-one player with an NBA body. Long range shooting is not his thing. He does have good vision and he makes plays due to his ability to see the whole floor. We've seen him make fantastic plays as a passer out of the high post when zoned. He finished his freshman season with more assists than turnovers - which is not often seen from scoring guards. ...Owns a nice hesitation dribble and his uses both hands but his ball-handling needs to improve under pressure, and his left-hand needs to be better. ...He gathers himself quickly. He is aggressive and very quick for his size. ...Stephenson was New York state's all time leading high-school scorer. …Can be out of control. …McDonald's All-America in 2009. …Voted the preseason Big East Rookie of the Year. ...Final analysis on Stephenson is that I wish there was a fast forward button for his maturity level. I watched him pout, and be a poor sport last season. I wouldn't want him as a teammate although he does have natural basketball ability. In my opinion he simply thinks he is better than he really is. He may me an effective NBA player down the road but he needs to have a better attitude.

Where do I expect Stephenson to be taken? Somewhere around 44th.

Our best advice: In 2003 the 44th pick was Malick Badiane. We said, "take Kyle Korver."

Our worst advice: In 2000 the 44th pick was Brian Cardinal. We said, "take Harold Arceneaux."
