Van Vleet, Fred Wichita St. 6'1" 195 PG SR. VanVleet was the "quarterback" of the excellent Shockers' teams in the last four seasons. As a Senior, he averaged 12.2 points, and 5.5 assists per game, earning the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year award. He also won that title as a sophomore. He is an 80% free throw shooter. He plays at a steady pace, reminiscent of a young Mike Bibby. VanVleet has a 3.08-to-1 assist to turnover ratio (career). VanVleet shot a very good 38% 3-pt. (career). ...Despite his short arms (6'2" wingspan), Van Vleet is a solid defender. His DEFRTG was equal to the Wichita State DEFRTG. If VanVleet gets drafted, it figures to be late in round two. But do not be surprised if he is a guy that sticks in the NBA.
