Walkup, Thomas  Stephen F. Austin 6'4" 195 PG SR. Thomas Walkup is a smart, rugged, competitor that improved each season in his college career. ...Walkup averaged 18.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game as a Senior. He is a willing, and able defender. His defensive rating was significantly better than the Stephen F Austin team DEFRTG. ...Walkup has below average athleticism for the NBA. His other weakness is his three-point stroke. He hit just .305 of his career three-point attempts. His 2.64-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio is excellent. Walkup improved his scoring, rebounding, assists, and free throw percentage with each season. He shot 81% FT in 2015-16. ...The two-time Southland Conference Player of the Year is probably the most underrated guy in the 2016 NBA Draft. Walkup is a strong guard that posted numbers too good to ignore. His Obsession EFR is .837. That doesn't happen by accident, regardless of how small your conference is. The Southland certainly fits the small-conference bill. ...Walkup had draft workouts with the Jazz, Celtics, Pelicans, and Rockets (as of 06/17/16). We think the 23 year-old is an NBA player.
