Warney, Jameel  Stony Brook 6'8" 259 PF SR. Warney was the AEC Player of the Year three years in a row. He was the conference Defensive Player of the Year this season as well. He is a "beast four" with good hands that shot 62% FG in 2015-16. Warney's efficiency rating (per minute) is second in our 2016 NBA Draft database only to Brice Johnson. Warney is Stony Brook's all-time leader in points, rebounds, blocks and games played. He is also the winningest player in school history. ...Warney could be in better shape but he moves well for such a big dude. He has a big butt that he uses to his advantage. His base and balance are excellent. He has a standing reach of 8'11.5" (same as Reggie Evans, Trevor Ariza, and Kyle Anderson). Warney is skilled as a low-post player. He uses either hand for a hook shot that goes in more than it misses. ...Warney's two areas of concern are free throw shooting (62% in 2015-16), and his decision making (more turnovers than assists). His DEFRTG is excellent (89.9 - career). ...I like Warney's game but as of this writing (06/09/16) NBA teams seldom use players like Warney. Jarnell Stokes spent his entire season in the D-League. ...I WOULD draft Warney in the second round although it seems unlikely he will be drafted at all.

See Warney go against Damian Jones.

In 2002 the 57th pick in the NBA Draft was Corsley Edwards. We advised, "draft Udonis Haslem."
