This trade was announced by ESPN: Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff and a second round pick in 2008 to Boston for Raef LaFrentz, Dan Dickau, and #7 pick in 2006 draft to Portland.

...Draft pick #1 is scheduled for a bit past 4:30 PM (Pacific).

• 4:34 PM - The Toronto Raptors are on the clock.
• 4:37 PM - The Raptors selected Andrea Bargnani from Italy. Some are making comparisons to Dirk Nowitzki - I think Bargnani's ceiling is more like Mehmet Okur. He is good but I don't see him as great. I would have taken Tyrus Thomas who IS a clear #1 to me.
• 4:40 PM - The Chicago Bulls are up next. They worked out Tyrus Thomas and Brandon Roy twice so I would look for either one to be selected.
• 4:43 PM - TRADE: The Bulls took LeMarcus Aldridge but they will trade him to Portland for the #4 pick and Viktor Khryapa. ...Immediate thought is that the Blazers will regret passing on Tyrus Thomas.
• 4:46 PM - Charlotte is on deck. Most assume that Adam Morrison is their guy.
• 4:49 PM - The Bobcats took Adam Morrison with the third pick. There is lots to like about Morrison.
• 4:54 PM - Portland will be selecting for Chicago due to earlier trade (above).
• 4:55 PM - Tyrus Thomas - LSU, goes to the Bulls as Portland picked him. This is the first GREAT pick of the draft in my opinion.
• 4:56 PM - Atlanta is up next and some will question their selection of Shelden Williams from Duke if that is their choice. I applaud the pick. Shelden Williams will be a proven power forward in the NBA.
• 5:00 PM - The Hawks did pick Shelden Williams. I Like it.
• 5:02 PM - Minnesota picks next. This is where I really depart from the monkey-see, monkey-do. I like Saer Sene as the next player on my BIG BOARD. I am not as high on Randy Foye as the rest of the world. I like his guard skills but feel he doesn't bring enough overall. His efficiency suggests most have him overrated. He is not in the same class as Dwyane Wade.
• 5:07 PM - Brandon Roy goes to Minnesota. I really do like Brandon Roy.
• 5:10 PM - Due to earlier trade Boston will now be picking for Portland.
• 5:13 PM - ESPN is reporting that Houston may trade the eighth pick to Memphis for Shane Battier.
• 5:16 PM - Greg Anthony just compared Rudy Gay to Grant Hill. Please. Hill was a supreme playmaker.
• 5:16 PM - The Celtics took Randy Foye for the Blazers. Foye's .425 EFR if transferred to the NBA would rank him 43rd at his position. Great guy, good player but I could not sign off on picking him this high.
• 5:21 PM - TRADE: Houston, Ric Buecher reports, will take Rudy Gay and trade him to Houston for Shane Battier.
• 5:22 PM - Rudy Gay was the pick.
• 5:25 PM - Shane Battier is a player I like. He is a pro but Gay has a much higher ceiling. Battier comes to play but has nowhere near the offensive game that Gay should ultimately achieve. ...Also Houston already has trouble scoring so why add Battier?
• 5:28 PM - The Warriors are on the clock. My best available are: Saer Sene, Patrick O'Bryant, Oleksiy Pecherov.
• 5:29 PM - The W's took Patrick O'Bryant. I like this pick for the Warriors. Kudos.
• 5:30 PM - The Sonics go next. I like foreign players Sene, Pecherov, Thabo Sefolosha, and Sergio Rodriguez.
• 5:35 PM - TRADE: Minnesota will swap Brandon Roy for Randy Foye (Portland).
• 5:36 PM - Seattle took Saer Sene! Another great long-term pick. This guy has a 7'8" wingspan. He could lead the NBA in blocked shots someday. I love this pick.
• 5:39 PM - More on Sene... Shot blockers in the NBA are not easy to acquire. This kid can run and he will change games defensively any time he is on the floor. He is better than DeSagana Diop at a similar stage in their career.
• 5:41 PM - Orlando - picking eleventh, took J.J. Redick. ...Some compare him to Steve Kerr. He is better than Kerr.
• 5:44 PM - Best available on my board: Pecherov, Sefolosha, Rodriguez, Ronnie Brewer, Rajon Rondo.
• 5:47 PM - Hilton Armstrong was chosen at #12 by New Orleans/Oklahoma City.
• 5:50 PM - Philly is on the clock.
• 5:53 PM - Philly took Thabo Sefolosha. Good pick by the Sixers.
• 5:55 PM - TRADE: Chicago made a trade with Philly for Sefolosha according to Andy Katz. The Sixers will also get a 2nd round pick from the Bulls in 2007.
• 5:59 PM - Utah will go next with the 14th pick. They took Ronnie Brewer. I like it.
• 6:02 PM - Best available on my board is... Pecherov, Rodriguez, Cedric Simmons, Shawne Williams, and P.J. Tucker.
• 6:03 PM - New Orleans picked again at 15. They took Cedric Simmons.
• 6:10 PM - The Bulls are picking for the Sixers at #16. Rodney Carney was the choice. He reminds me too much of Ron Mercer for my taste.
• 6:14 PM - Indiana has the next pick. ...Lots of Marcus Williams talk. I guess I am not a fan of his overall game. He does pass it exceptionally well.
• 6:16 PM - The Pacers at #17 take Shawne Williams. This is the point in the draft where you really take a look at, who can be a star in a few years? Shawne Williams has some star potential but he is more of a 'potential guy' now. I like the selection.
• 6:21 PM - Washington picks next. The Wizards go with Oleksiy Pecherov. I love this pick.
• 6:24 PM - The Kings are up next - I would be happy with Rodriguez, Rajon Rondo, P.J. Tucker, Hassan Adams, or Paul Millsap.
• 6:29 PM - The Kings took Quincy Douby. He is a scorer, shooter.
• 6:32 PM - The Knicks are picking 20th. ...They took Renaldo Balkman.
• 6:37 PM - Everyone is trashing Balkman. He is a nice player. I had him 23rd on my list.
• 6:41 PM - Phoenix is up. They are picking for Boston according to Andy Katz. They took Rajon Rondo. ...Rondo will go to Boston in exchange for Boston taking Brian Grant and his hefty contract. I like the pick for the Celtics.
• 6:44 PM - It must suck to be a fan of the Suns. They get no pick in exchange for someone taking on a salary. Boston gets Rondo, and Brian Grant. Phoenix gets their Grant bill paid but nothing else in return.
• 6:47 PM - New Jersey at #22 took Marcus Williams.
• 6:50 PM - The Nets pick again at #23. They selected Josh Boone.
• 6:52 PM - My best available: Sergio Rodriguez, P.J. Tucker, Hassan Adams, Paul Millsap, Mike Gansey, and Leon Powe.
• 6:57 PM - Memphis took Kyle Lowry at 24.
• 7:02 PM - Cleveland is picking now. Shannon Brown was the choice.
• 7:05 PM - The Lakers are up at #26.
• 7:09 PM - The Lakers took Jordan Farmar.
• 7:13 PM - TRADE: Ric Buecher says Phoenix will take Sergio Rodriguez and sell the pick to Portland for cash.
• 7:14 PM - The pick was Sergio Rodriguez. I like the value. ...Rodriguez is a guy that NBA fans will love. His ball-handling is spectacular.
• 7:19 PM - At #28, Dallas took Maurice Ager.
• 7:22 PM - The Knicks pick again next.
• 7:25 PM - The next to last pick in the first round by the Knicks was Mardy Collins. I do not like his game. This is the first pick of a player not ranked in my top-60.
• 7:29 PM - Portland has the final pick in the first round. They select Joel Freeland. I would not have taken this risk.
