July 2, 2008 ...BasslineSpin.com favorite Justin Williams is going to play for the Sonics summer league entry when play starts Monday in Orlando. Williams will join Seattle’s draft picks, Russell Westbrook, D.J. White, and Devon Hardin on what should be a excellent defensive team for summer action. ...Baron, Baron, Baron. Baron Davis can be a difference maker but does he want to play until late June the way an NBA Champion has to? The Clippers did well here—whatever the answer is to the previous question. Baron is the seventh most efficient Point Guard in the NBA and he will improve the Clipps dramatically. No matter how Golden State tries to spin it—losing Davis and getting zero in return is not a good thing. ...On a completely different level—the Warriors did well in our book to get Reggie Larry of Boise St. to play on their summer squad. Larry is an athletic prospect I liked that will have to become more of a perimeter player to ever make it the NBA. Last year he averaged 19 points and nine rebounds per game as a Senior starter.

July 1, 2008 PART II ...Undrafted free agent Chris Lofton of Tennessee will suit up for the Charlotte Bobcats summer team. I like Lofton as a knock-down shooter that doesn’t turn the ball over. ...Temple’s undrafted Mark Tyndale will ball for the Orlando Magic this summer.

June 29, 2008 ...So the draft was now three days ago and I don’t believe you can judge any winners or losers yet. Today’s media wants to try and say who did well and who did not. Whatever. Let’s consider those questions in regard to the 2008 draft about this time in 2012. ...I do think we can now draw some conclusions about the 2004 draft. Shall we? The top five picks were: 1. Dwight Howard, 2. Emeka Okafor, 3. Ben Gordon, 4. Shaun Livingston, 5. Devin Harris. With all hindsight - as of this morning - here is my version of how it should have happened. The number one pick was a slam dunk. Dwight Howard is a basketball beast and a good guy. The Orlando Magic nailed it! I would  pick Andris Biedrins second rather than Okafor. Do I really think Biedrins is that good? I do. The third pick if we did the 2004 draft over today would be Kevin Martin. Geoff Petrie bamboozled opposing NBA GM’s that let Martin slip to #26. Al Jefferson would be my fourth pick, followed closely by the high-flying Josh Smith. ...The sixth through tenth picks in the 2004 NBA Draft were: 6. Josh Childress, 7. Luol Deng, 8. Rafael Araujo, 9. Andre Iguodala, 10. Luke Jackson. ...In the do-over—my sixth pick would be Harris followed by Iguodala, Deng, Okafor, and J.R. Smith. ...Eleventh through 15th in the real draft were: 11. Biedrins, 12. Stromile Swift, 13. Sebastian Telfair, 14. Kris Humphries, 15. Jefferson. My 11-15 in the do-over are Jameer Nelson, Childress, Trevor Ariza, Sasha Vujacic, and Beno Udrih. ...Picks 16-20 in the 2004 NBA Draft fell this way: 16. Kirk Snyder, 17. Josh Smith, 18. Dorell Wright, 19. Nelson, 20. Pavel Podkolzine. ...The do-over 16-20: Wright, Snyder, Humphries, Delonte West, and Swift.

June 28, 2008 Undrafted Reggie Williams (VMI) has invitations to play Summer League ball for Sacramento, Dallas, Golden State, New Jersey, Orlando, Charlotte, Atlanta, and the Clippers.  I think Williams best chance to make a roster will be in Orlando, Charlotte, or with the Clippers. The Magic drafted Courtney Lee and they have J.J. Redick. The Bobcats are solid with Jason Richardson but his backup is shaky with Derek Anderson, Matt Carroll, and draft choice Kyle Weaver vying for time. The Clipps drafted Eric Gordon who should start there over Cuttino Mobley and Quinton Ross.

June 27, 2008 ...Our first look at the 2009 NBA Draft is here. ...Among our most highly rated players that went undrafted in yesterday’s 2008 NBA Draft is Kyle Hines. Word is he will be attending the Cleveland Cavs mini-camp in hope of making their summer league roster. ...My best at each position that went undrafted: PF - Shawn James - Duquesne, SG - Reggie Williams - VMI, PG - Jamont Gordon - Mississippi St., SF - Davon Jefferson - USC, C Kentrell Gransberry -  S. Florida.

June 25, 2008 ... Lots of draft thoughts here.
